MASS RUN(2009)

Every year, our school organised "MASS RUN" at Yishun Park(Safra)....This year it was held on 20 Feb...It was a sunny day...I wake up at 7.45am in the morning and get myself ready and left the house at 8.30am...I met my friends and walk with them to the Safra...At about 9.20am we get ready to run along the park....Then i start running together with my friends...I couldn't catch up with them but i maintain their running level and catch up with them till the end of the run...I can't bear the hot and my tongues get painful....And then the teachers told us to sit and have some water...The teachers gave out the winners who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd for boys and girls separately...At last they gave out water bottles to the lucky draw' winners..And then they dismissed us...It was a tired day but I enjoyed with my friends..

That all...Bye i have to leave...Very tired....Wait till another post...

Today, i bought chocolate and sweets for my friends... I gave them and wish then Happy Valentine Day...My Dear Nasiha bought for me a gift...and when i open and see it was a silver Earing...I like that because i love silver colour.....Our Class English Teacher also gave each and everyone a pin with heart shape....It was very sweet of her......From this, I learn that Valentine day is not only for lovers, it is also for people who show love to us......Thank You Mdm Azizah and Nasiha......And Wish Everyone a HAPPY VALENTINE DAY......

PONGAL CELEBRATIONS......

Last firday, we celebrate pongal near the yishun sec school carpark at 1.10pm. At about 11.50pm, we went to help out with decoration. The boys help the teachers to tie up the Sugar Cane plant. And my friends were helping out to do kolam. kolam is made with decorative patterns with coloured rice. we need to mix the colour power to make coloured rice. My teacher called some of the parents to help out with the pongal. At about 1.10pm, the sec 1 tamil student came and the parents teach them how to do the pongal. Parents teach us to do two type of pongal. the salty one known as 'ven pongal' and the sweet one known as 'Sarkkarai pongal'. Ven Pongal is made up of Split Bengal Gram, grated Coconut , Ghee, Jaggery, Cardamoms, Cashewnut. 'Sarkkarai pongal' is made up of Raw rice , Grated Jaggery,Cashew nuts,Dry grapes ,Ghee. After that we teach the students how to do kolam. They also try do kolam on their ownself and then we teach them how to do "Thoranam" which is made from tender coconut leaf. Then the Ms Ng Ngoing Keng , Mr Apollos, Mr Jeremy Ng came and gave a speech to the students. After that the students went to have some foods. And then it was the end of the pongal celebration. The teacher told that Pongal is a harvest festival. Pongal means the "boiling over" of milk and rice . There are three type of pongal. The First day of pongal is known as 'Surya Pongal' and is dedicated to the Sun God. The Second day of Pongal is dedicated to cattle and is called Mattu Pongal. People offer prayers to the bulls, cows and other farm animals. Cows and bulls have always held a special place . Cows give nourishing milk while bulls and oxen help plough the fields.Thus, Maatu Pongal is a day when cattle are given a well deserved day of rest and are given pride of place. The Third day of pongal is known as ' Kanni Pongal'.In this day of festival young girls from all the houses in that street will dance in front of their relatives house so as to get their appreciation from them. The dance, which they perform, is KUMMI and KOLAATTAM. After explaining about Pongal, the student get to know more information about pongal. I just want to tell that i had a wonderful time with the sec 1 students.

He think that student using the SMS language in their schoolwork is lack of etiquette and he also believe that certain degree of social decorum takes the student-teacher relationship to a level of casualness.

2. What feedback did Mrs Adrienne Pereira give on SMS language being shown over national TV?

She gave feedback that SMS messages should no be broadcast on national TV as an English- language station should promote good English.

3. Why do you think Nicholas spelt "rocks" as "rawks" ?

I think he always SMS to his friends using SMS language so when he write composition, it make him easier to write and he also feel creative to use SMS language.

4. How did Nicholas's mother react to her son's using SMS language? Give her contrasting views.

His mother feel nothing wrong in using SMS language. Because she says SMS language is the in thing for teenagers who are used to these short forms and when they start writing , they know that they have to use good English.

Today, i wake up at 7.00am in the morning. I get myself ready and waiting for my mum to get ready. Then we leave the house and walking towards the Nee Soon South Community Centre. There were many student sitting down patiently. I was so impatiently and angry. My Mum and me were waiting there about twenty five minutes. At about 9.10am, the function began. The guest of honour, Ms Lee Bee Wah gave a speech. Then the guest give awards to the members of Nee Soon South Community Centre. After that they told us to collect our Edusave Award at the nearby tables from the the members. After receiving the award, i felt over joyed. Then i went home and show to my father. And he say keep on trying your best............

Firstly, many people are homeless, hungry and feel hurting. They live in poverty and dirty environment. Secondly, there is no education. Many young children are going to work to earn money. Thirdly, there is no light and no sight for children. Dirty water makes most of the children to lost their eyes. These are the three things that make me feel touched my heart. It touched my heart because we are precious that we get everything now but people in the past didn't deserved to get anything.

3. What two things you can do to make a differences?

I must belief in humanity and must show love and care for the country.
